Guidelines to Auditioning for leads in our recital:
- This will be a competitive audition. We do not have parts for everyone that auditions. We encourage you to audition if you are interested in being casted.
When you come to the appropriate audition:
- All styles of dance will happen within your hour audition.
- We will begin en pointe (if applicable), move to modern, then jazz & theater, finally Hip Hop.
- If you do not wish to be considered for a part during the audition, you are welcome to stand off to the side until your genre of dance begins. All dancers must remain in the audition room for the entire hour. No early dismissals, and tardiness could result in no audition.
- You are responsible for warming yourself up for the audition
- You can expect short 16 count phrases choreographed by one of our teachers.
- Be ready to make a quick impression.
- All student’s auditioning will have to fill out an audition form. We will ask you to be specific about your availability during the 2nd semester (Feb. 1, 2017 to June 2017) Start checking your calendars now for graduations, proms, senior trips, family reunions & weddings.
- All leads will be double casted. Each cast will perform.
- All leads will be charged $100.00 for their costume.
- Leads will not perform with their classes during the show they are casted as a lead.
