WEAD Contemporary Dance Classes

Contemporary I (ages 10+)

Contemporary I (ages 10+) - an introduction to combining classical ballet technique with the floor work and dynamics of modern dance. This class also explores storytelling through current music. Dancers are strongly encouraged to have at least 2 years of ballet training.

Commercial Contemporary II (ages 12+)

For Ballet VI and VII dancers. We will explore the total movement potential of the body. This class combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This dance style can be found on SYTYCD, commercials, Broadway, movies, or on tours with recording artists.

Commercial Contemporary III (ages 14+)

For Ballet VIII dancers. We will explore the total movement potential of the body. This class combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This dance style can be found on SYTYCD, commercials, Broadway, movies, or on tours with recording artists.

All contemporary classes carry a ballet co-requisite.
